Frequently Asked Questions

What is a soil inoculant?

A soil inoculant is a product containing beneficial living microorganisms — bacteria, fungi, and other biology — that you introduce to your soil to support and strengthen its natural ecosystem. Think of it as seeding your garden with the right microscopic workforce. Cultiv contains mycorrhizal fungi, beneficial bacteria, bio-char, and supporting nutrients that work together to create a thriving underground network around your plant roots.

Is Cultiv safe to use on vegetables and edible crops?

Yes. Cultiv is formulated with naturally occurring microorganisms and organic-approved inputs. It is safe for edible gardens, vegetable beds, fruit trees, herbs, and anywhere food is grown. The microorganisms in Cultiv are the same type found in healthy, productive agricultural soils around the world. Always wash produce before eating, as you would with any garden product.

How long until I see results?

Most gardeners begin to notice improved plant vigor, stronger stem development, and greener foliage within 2–4 weeks of application. Significant root system development and improved yields are typically observed over a full growing season. Soil biology is cumulative — the more consistently you apply, the stronger and more self-sustaining your soil ecosystem becomes.

How does the 48-hour activation work? Why do I have to wait?

The Cultiv Activation is the process of rehydrating the dormant biology in the powder so it becomes active before it hits your soil. When you mix the powder with water and let it rest, the microorganisms — which are alive but in a dormant, shelf-stable state — begin to hydrate, metabolize, and multiply. By the time you apply the solution 48 hours later, you are delivering fully active, ready-to-work biology directly into your root zone. Applying immediately would still work, but the activation process dramatically improves efficacy.

Can I use Cultiv alongside my existing fertilizers?

Yes, in most cases. Cultiv is designed to complement your current growing practices. Because Cultiv works by supporting soil biology and unlocking nutrients already present in the soil, it works best when combined with organic or light-use fertilizer programs. Heavy synthetic fertilizer applications can suppress some microbial activity, so if you use synthetics, consider spacing applications. Questions? Email us at hello@terragenis.com.

How much do I need, and how many applications are in a pouch?

Each 8 oz (227g) pouch is designed to treat approximately 200–400 square feet of garden bed, depending on application rate and soil condition. New or depleted soils may benefit from more frequent initial applications. For established gardens in maintenance mode, a single pouch applied at the start of the season and again mid-season is typical.

Is Cultiv organic and natural?

Yes. Cultiv contains naturally occurring microorganisms, bio-char, humic acid, fulvic acid, and amino acids. Our inputs are selected to align with organic growing principles. Cultiv is not a synthetic fertilizer and contains no harsh chemicals. It is not certified organic by a third-party certifier at this time, but all ingredients are consistent with natural and organic garden practices.

How should I store Cultiv?

Store your Cultiv pouch in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme heat. The microorganisms are in a shelf-stable dormant state and remain viable when stored properly. Do not freeze. Once mixed with water for activation, use the solution within 24 hours after the 48-hour activation window. Opened pouches should be resealed and used within 6 months.
